Calm wednesday with some flat tires ending with a nice Flycatcher
It was a quiet morning at the observatory. It was raining, so we cancelled ringing and the observations and instead had a sleep-in. Mikkel and Rasmus had gone out night catching last night, so they took the morning to rest and recover. Later on, they got a ride to go twitch the Subalpine warbler and luckily, were successful! However, on the way back they got a flat tire and at the moment of writing, they’re still stranded somewhere!
Jonas’ morning was similar to Hans’, both of them had been out birding. Jonas was observing for 3 hours with his friend Frederik. During the span of 10 minutes, they saw 4 Great northern divers, which was really fun!I spent my morning studying, and later on started making a recruitment video for the autumn season with Michaela. In the afternoon Lisa took me, Jonas and Michaela grocery shopping for the week!

However the day wasn´t finished. When everyone was about to have their evining-dinner, a Collared Flycatcher (Hvidhalset Fluesnapper) was announced from Poul Eegs Camping. Within ten minutes allmost every birder in Skagen was assembled there and on the small tracks (Nordstjerne/Nordlysvej). All (almost) had very good wiews of the nice bird which is not seen every year in the area.
