Good evening everyone!

Today Alice and I cycled to Kabeltromle in the morning and opened the nets. Simon and Lisa also arrived just as we finished opening the nets and soon after Manuel and Robbe with the telescopes as they were doing the Morning Obs from Kabletromle today.

Today we had some spectators while ringing among them a group of Denmarks naturfredningsforening. Later, Jørgen and his wife with Igor also came.

And in the first round we already had a great surprise in the net: On the north side, we had a nice Sparrowhawk "Spurvehøg" female in the net! We were all excited, as we had been hoping for this for days, recently, there have been some at Kabletromle.

This was the only highlight while ringing today, but a good one, otherwise it was very quiet. But we did get to see some really cool birds from Kabeltromle: We saw the Saker Falcon "Slagfalk", it is the 2nd record in Skagen and the 4th record in Denmark! We also had a nice Pallid Harrier "Steppehøg" and a Short-eared Owl "Mosehornugle". The weather was very good and in the hope of seeing the Saker Falcon "Slagfalk" again, we stayed a little longer. We didn't see him, but we did see a Small Copper "Lille Idfugl", one of the first this year! After returning to the station we had lunch, then Patricia came and brought us two dead Guillemots "Lomvie" for the freezer. Thank you! Robbe and Manuel then went to Flaubakken and spent the afternoon there. They had lots of Raptors, Rough-legged Buzzards "Fjeldvåge", Hobbies "Lærkfalk", Kites "Glente", Ospreys "Fiskeørn", Harrieres "Kærhøg". Alice worked on her university applications, I had a refreshing nap and then entered the ringing data. Lisa and Simon went to Thorkild Duch today, who stuffed a Red-necked Grebe "Gråstrubet Lappedykker" and a Short-eared Owl "Mosehornugle" for the lighthouse. Thank you, the Red-necked Grebe "Gråstrubet Lappedykker" has been given a place of honor in the living room!

They also met Axel Emil Thorenfeldt, a bird-artist whose highly exhibition of his bird drawings, which we highly recommend, will open tomorrow at Galleri Molevit in Skagen. After the evening meeting we ate Manuel's lovely dinner and Robbe is already cooking for tomorrow! So we have already one thing to look forward to, now we just need cool birds for tomorrow!

So see you then, take care!
