Today Joakim, Esben, Simon and I ringed at Kabeltromlen while Bjørn was doing migration counting at North Beach with Knud and Michael Ancher was ringing at Jennes Sø.

Today was the biggest day of the season for the rigging, we get in total 100 birds at Kabeltromlen with a lot of Robin (Rødhals) and Chiffchaff (Grasanger), in total we get 9 different species for the spot. We also got an interesting recapture of a Chiffchaff form Sweden.

During the ringing we could also do some very good bird observations especially of a Golden eagle (Kongeørn) and 3 Great grey shrike (Stor Tornskade) and many other migrating species! We had the visit of Rie Jensen on the ringing spot today who help us during the rounds and spot some cool birds!

We also have some arrival of new species for the year in Skagen, with the first Barn Swallow (Landsvale), Black Kite (Sort Glente), Ring ouzel (Ringdrossel), Artic Skua (Almindelig Kjove) and the first Pallid Harried (Steppehøg) a beautiful adult male! The two raptors species, we saw them during the afternoon near the lighthouse.

During the observation this morning, Bjørn and Knud get also a very good day with a lot of migrating bird, the highlight of the day was also the Golden eagle, a Black-throated loon (Sortstrubet Lom) and Hen harrier (Blå Kærhøg) in number.

This afternoon we welcomed Frederik a new volunteer who are going to be with us for the all spring season. He brought even a recorder for bats! After Joakim introduced him to the place, we start to listen to the sounds recording we had for the night migration recording that we put at Kabeltromlen last night. We analyze two hours of the night and we have already a good number of species but there is still some work to do because we have still 8 hours of recording to look at! Hopefully we will hear some interesting species!
