Parents' day at Kabeltromlen

Hey hey!

It was a nice and sunny Saturday! I went up early to open the nets with Jonas, then his and Rasmus’s dads joined. Soon after, the other guys from the station came up too, and Mikkel with Anders went observing and world's end 1. We had very many visitors, also Simon’s dad joined, so it was a real parent day today! Jonas’s mum brought the most delicious cake for us which we were very grateful for!!! We ringed in total 59 birds, had nice company, and some nice observations of Citrine wagtail(Citronvipstjert), and even Orcas(Spækhugger), not all of us got to see them, but those who did were very excited!

When we were closing the nets, we flushed a long-eared owl(Skovhornugle), but unfortunately we haven’t caught it. We also caught first Lesser whitethroats(Gærdesanger) of the year!

In the afternoon, Esben and I set up the whoosh net to try and catch the wheatears that are often close to the lighthouse, but there were none to be caught. Then we went to Jennes Sø to put up the nets in preparation for CES ringing tomorrow morning! Jonas and Rasmus were spending the time with their families, and Anders and Mikkel went out birding to Storeklit, where they saw many Ospreys(Fiskeoerne) and falcons(Falke).
